We Advocate for You
We engage our members to impact public policy at federal, state, and county government levels to help them succeed and prosper in the tourist economy. We leverage our members’ collective strength to be a unified voice to work with government and community leaders on common goals affecting our industry. Member involvement is vital to the continued success of the visitor industry. Your active participation in the legislative process influences and shapes public policy.
We Inform You
We provide educational opportunities, timely information and appropriate resources to members, legislators, media and the community. Throughout the year, a number of educational opportunities are provided at seminars on issues affecting the hospitality industry, training programs, training manuals and various certification programs as well as the HLTA resource library.
We Give Back
We support and contribute to a better quality of life and environment for both the community and our visitors. The HLTA Kauai Chapter is the proud sponsor of the Annual Visitor Industry Charity Walk, supporting our island’s non-profit organizations that play a vital role in our social fabric. All funds raised in this event stays on Kauai to support our community. Charity Walk Kauai, raised more than $600,000 in 2024 which provided grant funding to more than 60 Kauai non-profit organizations.
Other HLTA Kauai annual events include:
Scholarship Golf Tournament, Malama Awards, Charity Walk Bowling, Charity Walk Golf Tournament, Visitor Industry Charity Walk, Charity Walk Pickle Ball Tournament, Networking, Food & Beverage, and Cultural Events.
We Support the Future
The Kauai Chapter of HLTA has continued to support the education of our best and brightest, with the annual scholarship program for Kauai Community College (KCC) students and providing funds to the Academy of Hospitality and Tourism at Kauaʻi High School.
Government Representation
To advocate the needs of our members with Federal, State and County Governments. Our affiliation with AH&LA also provides our members with valuable lobbying on Capitol Hill to provide a business climate in which the industry can prosper. Locally, we actively participate at the State and County Government level.
Continuing Education
To provide educational opportunities, timely information, and appropriate resources to members, legislators, media, and the community. Throughout the year, a number of educational opportunities are provided at seminars on issues affecting the hospitality industry, training programs, training manuals, and various certification programs as well as the HLTA resource library.
Giving Back & Securing the Future
To support and contribute a better quality of life and environment for the community and our visitors. Annually raise funds statewide for charities, offer several scholarships to college and university students, and coordinate partnerships between hotels and public high school students on educational programs.
