On the North Shore, you will experience lush vegetation and sprawling views of the mountains against the sea. Expect passing showers as this is the lushest, and therefore the rainiest, side of the island. Known as the Royal Coconut Coast, Kaua’i’s East Side is home to large groves of coconut and palm trees as well as a fantastic ocean-side bike path! Check out the gorgeous Wailua river where you can kayak and stand up paddle or drive up into Wailua to see beautiful ‘Opaeka’a Falls!

The South Side of Kaua’i is a great place to soak up some sunshine. The well-known saying “It’s always sunny in Poipu” generally holds true! There is family-friendly swimming at Poipu beach park, a beautiful walk on the cliffs above Shipwreck beach, and a great selection of restaurants and hotels near the beautiful beaches!

If you’re looking for a mountainous adventure, the West side of Kaua’i is the place for you. You can drive up the mountain to explore world famous Waimea State Park and Koke’e State Park. Back at sea level with drier and hotter weather, you can go to Waimea Town or further west towards Polihale State park!
